Reviews about Ron's Open Flame Shop, Inc.

  • April 06, 2020, by Kerry Robertson
Ron was very attentive to our needs. He had the parts and the knowledge to address and solve our problem. While we were there, we enjoyed browsing at the variety of fireplaces and surrounds Ron's has on his sale's floor. He has quite a selection ranging from traditional styles to modern and sleek options. I was also surprised to see many outdoor heating options, barbecues, firepits, and even offerings of a hot tub! Ron and his staff's friendly and outgoing personalities certainly encourage our return visit!

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!! My husband had Ron's open flame shop come out to clean our chimney. They were supposed to call him by 11am if they were going to come out that day. When he didn't get a call he left home. I got a call bout 2:30 that they were at my home. So I had to leave work to go let them in. When they arrived they looked over my chimney and showed me pics of damage to my chimney. Then they came into my house and started pulling out my fireplace insert. I wanted to confirm the price before they started. The guy said he wasn't sure depended on how long it took but my husband had been quoted $195 to $225 over the phone & that is also the price that the lady gave me when I called them. I asked them how I need to pay them and said with a check. I had to go back to work and told them to call me when they were finished and I would come back home to pay them. About an hour and a half later they called and told me they were finished and wanted to charge me $475 and I refused to pay that much. He was very rude and said they got 25 gallons of stuff from my chimney, which was a lie. They had dumped all of the soot in a garbage can sitting in front of my house. My husband looked at it and said there was may 7 gallons. They also had soot all over my house. They called there office then called me back and said they would drop the price to $375 if I would let them do the repairs in the amount of $1200. I would never use or buy anything from these people again they are crooks!!
